Tax Levy/Budget

This mil rate compares favorably with the mil rates of previous years (though representing a slight increase over 2012) which were as follows:

  • 2016 - mil rate of 3.614115
  • 2015 - mil rate of 3.614115
  • 2014 - mil rate of 3.614115
  • 2013 - mil rate of 3.614115

Assessed values also continued to increase as is indicated by the following:

  • 2011 - $135,856,796.00 (0.757% increase over the previous year)
  • 2012 - $138,793,800.00 (2.162% increase over the previous year)
  • 2013 - $144,561,800.00 (4.156% increase over the previous year)
  • 2014 - $148,501,000.00 (2.725% increase over the preious year)
  • 2015 - $150,407,400.00 (1.284% increase over the previous year)

This 2015 tax levy for the Village of Denmark also includes levies for several other entities including the Denmark School District, Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, Brown County, the State of Wisconsin as well as the Village itself. In addition it also includes a levy for the Tax Incremental Financing (TIF) District #1 in the Village. That portion of the mil rate going to the Village is determined by dividing the "allowable levy" by the "assessed valuation" as returned by the Assessor.

The 2016 tax levy for the Village of Denmark includes levies for the School District (47%), the Technical College (4%), Brown County(24%) the Village (24%) and the State of Wisconsin (1%). It also includes a levy for Tax Incremental District # 1 in the Village of Denmark. The Village portion of the mil rate is determined by dividing the "allowable levy" by the "assessed valuation".
