Brown County Broadband Speed Test Initiative

Brown County has launched a new website (https://www.browncountywi.gov/broadband) in order to help everyone in our community test their internet speed. The reason for this is to improve our request for federal funding and investment in order to improve our broadband internet infrastructure and web capabilities in areas like education, business, health care and overall quality of life. With the COVID-19 pandemic, we all have seen the challenges that parents, students, teachers, small business owners, and community leaders have faced when trying to connect with each other. Now is the time to come together as we aim to improve our internet access and connectivity.

I’m asking you to reach out to your family, friends, staff and neighbors to ask them to go to this website and make their actual internet speed known to us. This will help Brown County and other groups apply for funding when grant opportunities open.
