Village of Denmark, Note from the Building Inspector
There are always lots of things for the Building Inspector/Zoning Administrator to do, including building inspection, zoning questions and local code enforcement. Local code enforcement includes abandoned cars, loose dogs, building maintenance, drainage, pools, etc. The list seems endless. The point of this is to make you all aware that if you have questions or concerns about things in the Village, feel free to give me a call. If I don’t know the answer, I will certainly look into it and get back to you. Please be aware of the need to properly maintain property as it keeps the property values high. Let me know if there is a property I should check on.
An area of real concern for me is swimming pools. Portable, above ground or inground all present the same danger to individuals. The Village ordinance 315.21 clearly defines pools and how fencing or other protective measures are to be installed. Permits for pools are required.
Please be sure to contact me with questions regarding conditions or concerns in the Village
On Jan 1 of 2018 the state requires that all Uniform Dwelling Code new home construction application be submitted electronically. The attached is a flow chart which may be helpful for the process. Please place this on your website with a note to contact me or the state.
